When our friends Andrew and Julia kindly offered to watch Max this past March so that we could get away for a few days, we didn’t argue! Knowing our kiddo would be in great hands, we booked the next train to France, and made the most of a short, child-free visit to picturesque Paris.
The Food
We were most excited by Paris’ culinary offerings, and we relished every opportunity to linger in cafes and restaurants (without having to worry about how much longer Max would make it before a melt-down).
In just two short days, we managed to find out-of-this-world croissants, expertly brewed coffee, mouth-watering crepes, and more.
The Sights
Since we have been to Paris a few times, we didn’t feel pressure to see everything. Instead, we decided to do the things in Paris we knew it would be hard to do with children. We enjoyed leisurely walks through the Louvre (which happend to be free on the day we visited), and the Centre Pompidou. We also attended Mass in the Cathedral of Notre Dame.
We topped off our short vacation with a trip to the top of the Eifel tower.
We had a wonderful time together and were grateful for our little getaway.
When we returned to Leuven, we were happy to get home to this crazy kid:
More to come soon…
